Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Venn Therapeutics is developing a program of monoclonal antibodies targeting the αvβ8 integrin for the treatment of solid tumors. The αvβ8 integrin is a key mediator in the activation of latent TGF-β (Transforming Growth Factor-beta) within the tumor microenvironment. By blocking this integrin, the antibodies are intended to inhibit TGF-β signaling, which is often exploited by tumors to suppress the immune system and promote growth. This therapeutic approach aims to restore anti-tumor immunity and reduce fibrosis within the tumor microenvironment. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
