Drug intelligence / Profile preview
An anti-β1-integrin antibody is a monoclonal antibody designed to target and block integrin beta-1 (ITGB1, also known as CD29). Integrin beta-1 is a cell surface receptor that associates with various alpha integrin subunits to form heterodimers that mediate cell-matrix adhesion and signaling. In oncology, blocking integrin beta-1 can disrupt tumor microenvironment interactions, overcome therapy resistance, and inhibit tumor growth and angiogenesis. In research settings, anti-β1-integrin antibodies are widely used to study cell spreading, migration, and signaling pathways, such as the interaction between beta-cells and extracellular matrix components like laminin-5.
