Overview

**Anti-Adhesion Product** is an investigational, human-origin two-component biologic developed by Baxter for prevention of postoperative intraperitoneal adhesions. The product consisted of a lyophilized anti-adhesion protein concentrate containing human fibrinogen and a lyophilized human thrombin concentrate, with diluents for reconstitution. It was applied locally to the rectal stump and abdominal incision line during surgery to form a temporary fibrin-based barrier intended to reduce tissue apposition and subsequent adhesion formation or re-formation. A completed Phase 2 study evaluated the product in patients undergoing staged abdominal surgery.
