Overview

Anti-ALK IgG is an antagonistic mouse monoclonal IgG antibody targeting the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) receptor, a transmembrane tyrosine kinase often overexpressed in various malignancies and regions of active angiogenesis. Developed by researchers at the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University, the antibody has been investigated in preclinical models for its ability to inhibit the progression of pancreatic intra-epithelial neoplastic ducts (PanIN) to pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Its mechanism of action involves blocking ALK signaling and modulating microRNA expression, specifically maintaining levels of the tumor-suppressive miR-375. In experimental settings, it has also been utilized as an imaging probe when conjugated with quantum dots to visualize pancreatic allografts.
