Anti-AQP3 monoclonal antibody is an investigational therapeutic agent designed to inhibit Aquaporin 3 (AQP3), a water channel protein expressed in various cell types, including certain cancer cells. Preclinical studies have shown that this monoclonal antibody reduces cell growth, mitochondrial respiration rate, and electron transport chain complex I activity in multiple myeloma (MM) cell lines. It also potentiates the antiproliferative effects of venetoclax and significantly suppresses tumor growth in immunodeficient mice inoculated with MM cells, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic strategy for multiple myeloma.
