Drug intelligence / Profile preview
anti-BCMA-CAR-IL15 NK cells are genetically engineered allogeneic natural killer (NK) cells designed to target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) for the treatment of multiple myeloma. These cells are modified using lentiviral vectors to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting BCMA, alongside the co-expression of human interleukin-15 (IL-15). The integration of IL-15 is designed to enhance the persistence, proliferation, and in vivo survival of the CAR-NK cells without the need for exogenous cytokine support. Preclinical studies in multiple myeloma xenograft models have demonstrated that anti-BCMA-CAR-IL15 NK cells effectively eliminate myeloma cells in hematopoietic tissues such as the bone marrow, spleen, and blood, although they may show limited efficacy against extramedullary disease.
