**Anti-BCMA CAR-T cells (9C4)** are an investigational autologous cell therapy where patient T cells are genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) incorporating the high-affinity 9C4 antibody targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA). BCMA is overexpressed on malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma (MM), enabling CAR-T cells to specifically recognize and eliminate BCMA-expressing tumor cells via T-cell activation, proliferation, and cytotoxicity. Developed using a fully human heavy chain variable region for the antigen-recognition domain, this second-generation CAR construct demonstrates potent antitumor activity in preclinical models and supports low-cost, decentralized manufacturing to address MM relapse/refractory cases.[1][11]
