Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The **anti-BCMA lipid nanoparticle** (also referred to as MMAF-Lp-Ab) is an experimental targeted drug delivery system designed for the treatment of multiple myeloma. Developed by researchers at Nottingham Trent University and Royal Derby Hospital, the therapeutic consists of liposomes (lipid nanoparticles) encapsulating the cytotoxic tubulin inhibitor monomethyl auristatin F (MMAF) and conjugated to anti-B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) antibodies on their surface. This formulation is designed to selectively target and internalize into BCMA-expressing myeloma cells, delivering the MMAF payload directly to the tumor cells to induce cytotoxicity while minimizing off-target side effects.
