Drug intelligence / Profile preview
anti-BKV mAbs is a therapeutic program being developed by IDBiologics consisting of monoclonal antibodies designed to neutralize the BK virus (BKV). The primary goal of this program is to prevent and treat BKV viremia and BKV-associated nephropathy (BKVAN) in kidney transplant recipients. BKV is a polyomavirus that often reactivates in the setting of therapeutic immunosuppression, leading to significant morbidity and potential loss of the renal graft. These antibodies work by binding to the virus and blocking its ability to infect host cells, thereby controlling viral replication and preserving kidney function.
