Anti-botulinum toxin recombinant hyperimmune is a preclinical-stage recombinant polyclonal antibody therapy being developed by GigaGen (a subsidiary of Grifols) for the treatment and prevention of botulinum toxin poisoning and biothreat exposure. Developed under contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), the therapeutic is designed to neutralize all seven botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) variants (serotypes A through G). Utilizing GigaGen's proprietary single-cell recombinant polyclonal antibody platform, the drug replicates and enhances the natural antibody diversity of immunized donors, offering a highly potent, laboratory-manufactured alternative to scarce plasma-derived hyperimmune products.
