Drug intelligence / Profile preview
An anti-CCL20 antibody is a monoclonal antibody designed to target and neutralize C-C motif chemokine ligand 20 (CCL20), also known as macrophage inflammatory protein-3 alpha (MIP-3α) or LARC. CCL20 is a chemokine that specifically binds to the C-C chemokine receptor type 6 (CCR6), driving the chemotaxis and recruitment of dendritic cells, effector/memory T cells (particularly Th17 cells), and B cells to sites of inflammation and tumor microenvironments. By blocking the CCL20-CCR6 axis, anti-CCL20 antibodies inhibit the recruitment of these inflammatory and immunosuppressive cells, offering therapeutic potential in autoimmune diseases (such as psoriatic arthritis and ulcerative colitis) and various cancers where CCL20-mediated signaling promotes tumor progression, metastasis, and immune evasion.
