anti-CD123 CAR-T is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Zhujiang Hospital for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that specifically targets CD123 (interleukin-3 receptor alpha chain), a protein frequently overexpressed on AML blasts and leukemic stem cells. Once infused back into the patient, these engineered T cells recognize and eliminate CD123-positive malignant cells. This specific program is part of a broader multi-center clinical study evaluating various CAR-T targets, including CD33, CD38, and CD56, to address the high heterogeneity of AML.
