anti-CD138 + anti-BCMA

A combination therapy involving antibodies targeting CD138 and B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA). CD138 is a marker expressed on plasma cells, including malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. BCMA is a receptor highly expressed on multiple myeloma cells and is a validated target for immunotherapy. The combination aims to enhance the targeting of malignant plasma cells by simultaneously engaging two distinct antigens, potentially improving efficacy in relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Anti-BCMA therapies include CAR-T cell therapies, bispecific antibodies, and antibody-drug conjugates that target BCMA to induce tumor cell death through immune-mediated mechanisms. Anti-CD138 targets the syndecan-1 molecule on plasma cells to facilitate their elimination. This dual-targeting approach may overcome resistance mechanisms seen with single-agent therapies.
