Overview

Anti-CD138 CAR-T cells are an autologous cell therapy being investigated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. These T cells are genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that targets CD138 (Syndecan-1), a protein highly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells. By binding to CD138, the CAR-T cells are directed to recognize and eliminate myeloma cells. In clinical studies conducted by Shunde Hospital of Southern Medical University, these cells have been evaluated both as a monotherapy and in combination with anti-BCMA CAR-T cells to overcome antigen escape and improve therapeutic outcomes in patients with advanced plasma cell dyscrasias.
