Overview

Anti-CD151 monoclonal antibodies represent a class of biologic agents designed to target CD151 (also known as PETA-3 or SFA-1), a transmembrane protein belonging to the tetraspanin family. CD151 is widely expressed on epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and platelets, and is frequently overexpressed in various cancers, where it correlates with poor prognosis, tumor progression, and metastasis. CD151 forms complexes with laminin-binding integrins (such as α3β1 and α6β4) to regulate cell adhesion, motility, and signaling. Monoclonal antibodies targeting CD151 have been investigated in preclinical research (including studies by Pierre Fabre) for their ability to inhibit primary tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastasis in models of breast, lung, and prostate cancers.
