Drug intelligence / Profile preview
An anti-CD153 antibody is a monoclonal antibody designed to target CD153 (also known as CD30 ligand or TNFSF8), a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. CD153 is primarily expressed on activated T cells, including senescence-associated T (SA-T) cells. The interaction between CD153 on SA-T cells and CD30 on B cells and fibroblasts promotes the formation and expansion of tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) in aged or injured tissues, such as the kidneys. By blocking the CD153-CD30 signaling pathway or depleting CD153+ SA-T cells, anti-CD153 antibodies can reduce TLS size, suppress chronic inflammation, and ameliorate tissue injury. Research, particularly from Kyoto University, has demonstrated the potential of anti-CD153 antibodies in treating chronic kidney disease (CKD), lupus, and other age-related inflammatory conditions.
