anti-CD19 CAR NK is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) natural killer (NK) cell therapy being developed by Xinqiao Hospital of Chongqing. This cell therapy involves engineering NK cells to express a CAR construct that specifically targets the B-lymphocyte antigen CD19, a protein highly expressed on the surface of most B-cell malignancies. The primary indication is relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL). CAR-NK cells are explored as an alternative to CAR-T cell therapies due to their potential for a reduced risk of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), as well as the possibility of developing "off-the-shelf" allogeneic products. In clinical trial settings, the administration of these cells is typically preceded by a lymphodepletion chemotherapy regimen consisting of fludarabine and cyclophosphamide.
