anti-CD19 CAR-NK cells (Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences) is an investigational cell therapy consisting of natural killer (NK) cells genetically modified to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting the CD19 antigen. Developed by Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, this therapy is primarily being evaluated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). The CAR-NK cells are designed to recognize and eliminate CD19-positive malignant B cells while potentially offering advantages over CAR-T cell therapies, such as a reduced risk of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), as well as the potential for off-the-shelf application from allogeneic sources.
