This anti-CD19 CAR T cell therapy is an autologous cell-based immunotherapy developed by the Iranian biotechnology company Kara Yakhteh Tajhiz Azma. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specifically targeting CD19, a surface antigen widely expressed on B-lineage cells. It is primarily being investigated for the treatment of pediatric patients aged 2 to 18 years with relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (r/r B-ALL). By redirecting the patient's immune system to recognize and eliminate CD19-positive malignant B cells, the therapy aims to achieve complete remission in patients who have failed standard treatments. The product is currently in Phase I/II clinical development in Iran.
