Overview

anti-CD19-CAR T-cells (Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University) is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD19 antigen. Developed by the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, this cell therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T-cells to express a CAR construct designed to recognize and bind to CD19, a protein predominantly expressed on the surface of B-cells and B-cell derived malignancies. Upon binding to CD19-positive cells, the CAR T-cells are activated to induce targeted cell lysis. The therapy is currently being evaluated in an early Phase 1 clinical trial (NCT04011644) for the treatment of various relapsed or refractory hematologic malignancies, including B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). While the trial also investigates CAR T-cells targeting CD30 for Hodgkin lymphoma and T-cell lymphoma, this specific intervention is focused on CD19-positive disease.
