Overview

Anti-CD19 UCAR-NK cells (Universal CAR-NK cells) is an investigational allogeneic (off-the-shelf) cell therapy consisting of natural killer (NK) cells engineered with a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) to target the CD19 antigen. Developed by the 920th Hospital of Joint Logistics Support Force of the People's Liberation Army of China, this therapy is designed to treat B-cell hematologic malignancies, including B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia and B-cell lymphoma. Unlike autologous CAR therapies, UCAR-NK cells are derived from healthy donors, allowing for immediate availability. In clinical trial NCT05654038, the cells are administered 1–7 days after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) to leverage the dual anti-tumor and anti-infection effects of NK cells, which may promote stem cell engraftment and improve disease control.
