This is a combination immunosuppressive regimen consisting of an anti-CD25 monoclonal antibody, sirolimus, and mycophenolate mofetil. Anti-CD25 monoclonal antibodies (such as basiliximab or daclizumab) target the interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain (CD25) on activated T lymphocytes, blocking IL-2 mediated activation and proliferation of T cells. Sirolimus is a small molecule inhibitor of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), which suppresses T-cell activation and proliferation by inhibiting response to cytokines. Mycophenolate mofetil is an immunosuppressant that inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, thereby blocking de novo purine synthesis in lymphocytes and reducing their proliferation[1][4][5]. This combination is primarily used to prevent organ transplant rejection by providing multi-modal suppression of immune responses.
