Anti-CD33-CAR-transduced T cells is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Southwest Hospital in China for the treatment of relapsed or refractory myeloid malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's T cells to express a CAR specific for the CD33 antigen (Siglec-3), a transmembrane receptor commonly expressed on the surface of myeloid leukemia blasts. Upon infusion, these engineered T cells recognize and bind to CD33-positive cells, triggering T-cell activation, proliferation, and the targeted destruction of the malignant cells through cytotoxic mechanisms.
