anti-CD44 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and knock down the expression of CD44, a cell-surface glycoprotein and receptor for hyaluronic acid that is widely implicated in cell adhesion, migration, and cancer stem cell-like phenotypes. In preclinical research, anti-CD44 siRNA is used to investigate the role of CD44 in tumor metastasis, cell proliferation, and chemoresistance across various cancer models, including breast cancer, glioblastoma, and pancreatic cancer. By silencing CD44 expression, it disrupts homophilic interactions and downstream signaling pathways, thereby reducing cell migration and promoting apoptosis.
