Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-CD45RO antibody refers to a class of monoclonal antibodies that target CD45RO, an isoform of the receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase C (PTPRC, also known as CD45). CD45RO is the shortest isoform of CD45, lacking exons 4, 5, and 6, and is predominantly expressed on activated and memory T cells, as well as some B cell subsets, activated monocytes, macrophages, and granulocytes. By binding to CD45RO, these antibodies can modulate T-cell receptor (TCR) signaling and have been investigated for their potential to suppress memory T-cell-mediated immune responses. This mechanism is of therapeutic interest for preventing or treating transplant rejection, graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), and autoimmune disorders, where memory T cells drive costimulation-blockade-resistant immune responses. Additionally, anti-CD45RO antibodies (such as clone UCHL1) are widely utilized as research reagents for flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and in vitro functional assays to identify and characterize memory T-cell populations.
