Overview

Anti-CD7 CAR T cells is a non-gene edited chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by iCell Gene Therapeutics for the treatment of relapsed and refractory T-cell malignancies, including T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), T-cell acute lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL), and T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The therapy consists of autologous T cells genetically engineered to express a CAR that targets the CD7 surface antigen, a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the majority of T cells and T-cell leukemic blasts. Unlike many other CD7-targeted therapies, this approach is non-gene edited, utilizing a proprietary process to prevent fratricide (CAR-T cells killing each other) without knocking out the CD7 gene. The construct includes a rituximab-based safety switch (RTX) that allows for the rapid depletion of CAR T cells through the administration of rituximab if severe toxicities occur. The therapy is administered intravenously following lymphodepleting chemotherapy.
