Anti-CD7 CAR-T cells (Shanghai General Hospital) is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Shanghai General Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. This cell therapy is designed to treat relapsed or refractory CD7-positive T-cell hematological malignancies, including T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and various T-cell lymphomas. The treatment involves engineering T cells to express a CAR that specifically targets the CD7 antigen, a glycoprotein highly expressed on the surface of malignant T cells. To prevent 'fratricide'—the self-destruction of CAR-T cells that also express CD7—the therapeutic cells are typically engineered to eliminate or block endogenous CD7 expression. Once infused, these CAR-T cells identify and induce apoptosis in CD7-positive tumor cells, aiming to achieve clinical remission in patients with aggressive T-cell cancers.
