Overview
This is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting CD70, developed by Shanghai Changzheng Hospital. CD70 is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily that is highly expressed in various malignancies, including renal cell carcinoma (RCC), while maintaining restricted expression in normal tissues. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR specific for CD70, enabling the T cells to recognize and eliminate CD70-positive cancer cells. It is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials for patients with locally advanced or metastatic CD70-positive renal cell carcinoma to assess safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy.
