anti-CD73 antibody 2C5 is a murine monoclonal antibody (IgG1-Fc) that targets CD73 (ecto-5'-nucleotidase), an enzyme responsible for converting extracellular adenosine monophosphate (AMP) into immunosuppressive adenosine. Developed by AstraZeneca researchers for preclinical studies, 2C5 is used to investigate the role of the adenosine pathway in the tumor microenvironment, particularly in pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC). By inhibiting CD73, the antibody reduces the accumulation of extracellular adenosine, thereby alleviating immunosuppression and enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. In preclinical models, it has been studied in combination with the A2A receptor inhibitor AZD4635 and other immunotherapies to reshape the myeloid-dependent pro-tumorigenic microenvironment and improve the efficacy of cytotoxic treatments.
