Overview

Anti-CD79b CAR-T is a chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy in which autologous or allogeneic T cells are genetically engineered to express a synthetic receptor targeting the CD79b protein. CD79b is a component of the B-cell receptor complex and is highly expressed on malignant B cells in non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and other B-cell malignancies. The engineered T cells recognize and bind to CD79b-expressing tumor cells, leading to their activation and targeted cytotoxicity against these cancerous B lymphocytes. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that various constructs of anti-CD79b CAR-T (such as CART79#3 or the "CARLY" series) show potent antitumor activity in models of NHL, including those resistant to standard anti-CD19 therapies[1][2][5]. This approach aims to overcome resistance mechanisms seen with other single-antigen targeted therapies by providing an alternative or complementary target for immunotherapy.
