Anti-CD99 CAR-T cells are an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target the CD99 antigen (also known as MIC2). CD99 is a cell surface glycoprotein that is highly expressed in several malignancies, including Ewing sarcoma, T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), and certain myeloid leukemias. The therapy involves genetically engineering a patient's T cells to express a CAR that specifically recognizes CD99, enabling the T cells to identify and eliminate CD99-positive tumor cells. This specific program is being evaluated by the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University in China for the treatment of relapsed or refractory CD99-positive lymphoproliferative diseases and other CD99-expressing cancers.
