Anti-CEA CAR T cells are a cell therapy consisting of T cells engineered with chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) that specifically target carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), a protein commonly overexpressed in various solid tumors. These modified T cells are designed to recognize and induce selective toxicity in CEA-expressing tumor cells. The therapy has shown promise in treating solid tumors, particularly colorectal cancer, pancreatic adenocarcinoma, and triple-negative breast cancer. In clinical studies, anti-CEA CAR T cells have demonstrated the ability to infiltrate tumors and induce tumor regression, with some patients experiencing complete metabolic responses. Various delivery methods have been explored to enhance efficacy, including hepatic artery infusion using Pressure-Enabled Drug Delivery (PEDD) technology and combination with immunocytokines or radiation therapy to improve T cell persistence and tumor infiltration.
