Anti-CEA CAR-T cells (Sorrento Therapeutics) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target cells expressing carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). CEA is a cell surface glycoprotein that is frequently overexpressed in various adenocarcinomas, including colorectal, pancreatic, gastric, and breast cancers. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR construct specific for CEA. These engineered T cells are expanded ex vivo and then re-introduced into the patient via intraperitoneal infusion. This localized delivery method is specifically intended to treat peritoneal carcinomatosis, peritoneal metastases, and malignant ascites by allowing the CAR-T cells to directly interact with tumor deposits within the peritoneal cavity, potentially increasing local efficacy while minimizing systemic toxicities.
