Overview

anti-CEA CAR-T cells + capecitabine is an investigational combination therapy consisting of: - **anti-CEA CAR-T cells**: T cells genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that targets carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), a tumor-associated antigen overexpressed in several solid tumors including colon and breast cancers. These engineered T cells recognize and destroy CEA-positive tumor cells via targeted cytolysis and immune activation. - **capecitabine**: An oral chemotherapeutic agent that is a prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU); it is converted in the body to 5-FU, which inhibits DNA synthesis and cell proliferation in rapidly dividing tumor cells. This combination aims to leverage both direct cytotoxic effects (from chemotherapy) and immune-mediated tumor cell killing (from CAR-T therapy) to achieve synergistic anti-tumor activity, particularly in CEA-positive solid tumors. The anti-CEA CAR design is often derived from CEA-specific monoclonal antibodies such as T84.66[1][3].
