Overview

Trellis Bioscience is developing a native human monoclonal antibody targeting CEACAM1 (carcinoembryonic antigen-related cellular adhesion molecule 1) for the treatment of cancer. Discovered using the company's proprietary CellSpot platform, which identifies high-affinity antibodies from the memory B-cells of healthy human donors, this antibody functions as an immune checkpoint modulator. CEACAM1 is an inhibitory molecule expressed on various tumor types as well as on T cells and Natural Killer (NK) cells. Its interaction suppresses immune cell activation and allows tumors to evade immune surveillance. By blocking these immunosuppressive interactions, the antibody aims to enhance anti-tumor immune responses. The program is currently in preclinical development.
