Overview

Anti-CLEC-1 monoclonal antibodies are a class of immune checkpoint inhibitors designed to block the C-type lectin receptor CLEC-1 (CLEC1A), which is primarily expressed on myeloid cells such as dendritic cells and tumor-associated macrophages. CLEC-1 acts as an inhibitory signal that limits the pro-inflammatory and phagocytic functions of these cells within the tumor microenvironment. By neutralizing CLEC-1, these antibodies promote macrophage-mediated tumor cell phagocytosis and enhance the activation of dendritic cells, thereby stimulating a broader anti-tumor T-cell response. OSE-230, developed by OSE Immunotherapeutics, is a prominent candidate in this class currently in preclinical development for various solid tumors, including hepatocellular carcinoma and mesothelioma.
