Overview

Anti-CS17 Bovine IgG is a preparation of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies derived from the colostrum of cows immunized with the CS17 colonization factor antigen from enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC). These antibodies are administered orally and have been shown in clinical trials to provide significant protection against diarrhea caused by ETEC strains expressing the CS17 fimbrial antigen. The mechanism of action involves passive immunization, where orally delivered bovine IgG binds to and neutralizes the CS17 fimbriae on ETEC, preventing bacterial adhesion to intestinal epithelial cells and subsequent infection[1][2][5]. This approach is considered a form of oral immunotherapy for infectious diarrhea.
