Overview

Anti-CTLA-4 2C8 is a recombinant monoclonal IgG1 antibody targeting cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4), an immune checkpoint receptor on T cells that suppresses T-cell activation. This antibody blocks CTLA-4, thereby allowing T cells to maintain effector function and attack cancer cells, reversing CTLA-4-mediated tolerance and anergy. The 2C8 clone was produced using a plant-based system (*Nicotiana benthamiana*) and demonstrates high-affinity binding to both human and mouse CTLA-4, as well as human FcγRIIIa (V158). In preclinical models, anti-CTLA-4 2C8 showed antitumor efficacy comparable to mammalian cell-produced ipilimumab (Yervoy), with significant tumor growth inhibition and favorable tolerability. This technology provides a lower-cost method for antibody production, potentially improving accessibility of checkpoint inhibitor therapies[1].
