Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Anti-D Hyperimmune is a plasma-derived hyperimmune globulin being developed by Aegros for the prevention of Hemolytic Disease of the Fetus and Newborn (HDFN) in Rh-negative pregnant women. Manufactured using Aegros's proprietary HaemaFrac® technology—a novel electroseparation process that fractionates human plasma with high yield and purity—the product contains high concentrations of polyclonal IgG antibodies directed against the RhD antigen. When administered to Rh-negative mothers carrying an Rh-positive fetus, these antibodies bind to and clear fetal RhD-positive red blood cells from the maternal circulation, preventing maternal Rh sensitisation and subsequent immune-mediated destruction of fetal red blood cells in future pregnancies.
