The anti-DOCK8 antibody is an experimental monoclonal antibody designed to target Dedicator of cytokinesis 8 (DOCK8), a guanine nucleotide exchange factor. Research indicates that DOCK8 is expressed on the surface of a specific subset of pathogenic T follicular helper (Tfh) cells in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). These DOCK8-positive Tfh cells are believed to drive the production of autoantibodies and the development of lupus lesions. In preclinical studies, treatment with anti-DOCK8 antibodies has demonstrated the ability to reverse SLE-like symptoms and reduce autoantibody levels in mouse models, suggesting its potential as a targeted immunotherapy for autoimmune diseases.
