Overview

anti-FcμR CAR T-cells are a form of CAR T cell therapy where T cells are genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that specifically recognizes **Fc mu receptor (FcμR)**, a molecule expressed on certain cancer cells. The design typically includes an extracellular single-chain variable fragment (scFv) that targets FcμR, a transmembrane domain, and intracellular signaling domains that activate T cell cytotoxicity upon antigen binding. As with other CAR T therapies, this approach aims to direct the patient's immune system to recognize and kill malignant cells expressing FcμR. Studies in animal models have shown that anti-FcμR CAR T-cells can exhibit greater specificity and selectivity compared to other CAR T approaches (such as anti-CD19 CAR T-cells), suggesting possible advantages in treating subtypes of blood cancers[3]. This therapy is experimental and has not been widely tested in humans. Most CAR T-cell therapy design and manufacture is through academic or specialized clinical trial centers, often on a case-by-case or research basis.
