**anti-FGF8 antibody** is a monoclonal antibody that specifically binds and neutralizes fibroblast growth factor 8 (FGF8), especially the FGF8b and FGF8f isoforms, with little cross-reactivity to other FGF family members. FGF8 is implicated in cartilage degradation in osteoarthritis, tumor growth (especially in hormone-dependent cancers such as prostate cancer), and regulation of immune responses in sepsis. Preclinical studies demonstrate that anti-FGF8 antibody reduces extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation by suppressing FGF8-stimulated pro-inflammatory and cartilage-destructive factors in models of arthritis, and inhibits growth of FGF8b-expressing tumors. The antibody studied in literature (KM1334) is a murine monoclonal antibody with evidence of neutralizing biological activity in animal models. The primary indications explored have been osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and prostate cancer, with investigative studies also in experimental sepsis models[1][2][12][3][5].
