Overview

Anti-FGFR2 IIIc antibody is a therapeutic agent designed to target the IIIc isoform of fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2). FGFR2 undergoes alternative splicing to produce two main isoforms: IIIb (typically expressed in epithelial cells) and IIIc (typically expressed in mesenchymal cells). The IIIc isoform is associated with increased malignancy, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and poor prognosis in various cancers, including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), prostate cancer, and bladder cancer. By binding specifically to the FGFR2 IIIc isoform, the antibody blocks interaction with its ligands (such as FGF-2, FGF-4, and FGF-6), thereby inhibiting downstream signaling pathways that drive tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Preclinical research has demonstrated that these antibodies can effectively suppress the growth and migration of pancreatic cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo.
