Overview

Anti-FGL2 antibody is a monoclonal antibody designed to neutralize or block fibrinogen-like 2 (FGL2), an immunosuppressive protein implicated in cancer (e.g., glioblastoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, melanoma) and chronic viral infection. FGL2 plays a key role in tumor immune evasion by promoting expansion of regulatory T cells, myeloid-derived suppressor cells, and tumor-supportive macrophages, and by suppressing dendritic and B cell function via engagement of FcγRIIB. Blocking FGL2 with monoclonal antibodies can reduce tumor growth and improve antitumor immune responses in preclinical models[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. The primary mechanism is competitive inhibition of FGL2’s interaction with its immune receptors, particularly FcγRIIB. Several specific clones, such as those described in patent filings (e.g., F48, F59), have been characterized for their binding specificity and anti-tumor efficacy[6].
