Overview

Anti-FITC CAR-T is a universal, switchable chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy platform designed to target cells indirectly via a fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-labeled adaptor molecule. Unlike traditional CAR-T cells that express a receptor for a specific tumor-associated antigen, anti-FITC CAR-T cells express a CAR specific for the FITC hapten. This approach allows for the redirection of T-cell cytotoxicity against various targets (such as CD19, HER2, GD2, or PD-L1) by administering different FITC-conjugated antibodies or ligands, which act as switches to control the activity and specificity of the CAR-T cells. This modular system aims to improve safety by allowing for dose-titratable activity and to overcome antigen escape by enabling the targeting of multiple antigens sequentially or simultaneously.
