Anti-fluorescein CAR T cells are a universal chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy platform in which the CAR contains a single-chain variable fragment (scFv), such as **FITC-E2**, that binds fluorescein (FITC) rather than a tumor antigen directly. This approach, notably developed by **Umoja Biopharma** as part of its **TumorTag** platform, uses bispecific adapter molecules (e.g., **UB-TT170**) comprised of fluorescein linked to tumor-targeting ligands (e.g., folate) to bridge the CAR T cells and cancer cells. This modular design enables the same CAR T cells to target multiple different tumor antigens, allows for controllable tumor engagement through dose titration of the adapter, and potentially reduces the risk of over-activation or cytokine release syndrome. The therapy is currently being evaluated in the **ENLIGHten-01** Phase 1 study for the treatment of **osteosarcoma** and other folate receptor-alpha (FRα) expressing solid tumors.
