Drug intelligence / Profile preview
An anti-GCSF antibody is a monoclonal antibody designed to target and neutralize granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). G-CSF is a key cytokine that regulates the proliferation, differentiation, and survival of cells in the neutrophil lineage. In chronic inflammatory conditions such as psoriasis, elevated G-CSF levels can lead to overexuberant granulopoiesis, resulting in bone loss and other systemic pathologies. In oncology, G-CSF can promote the accumulation of immunosuppressive myeloid cells in the tumor microenvironment, which dampens anti-tumor immune responses. By neutralizing G-CSF, these antibodies aim to alleviate inflammatory bone pathology, reduce immunosuppressive myeloid cell populations, and enhance anti-cancer immunity. Preclinical candidates, such as ME Therapeutics' h1B11-12, are being developed for immuno-oncology indications.
