Overview

Anti-GD-2 scFv is a single-chain variable fragment (scFv) designed to target the ganglioside GD2, a surface antigen highly expressed on melanoma cells and other neuroectodermal tumors. Developed by researchers at Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin, this scFv is utilized as part of a multi-antigen panel (including CSPG-4 and MCAM) for the detection and isolation of circulating melanoma cells (CMCs) from blood samples. The scFv is produced in *E. coli*, biotinylated for streptavidin-based enrichment, and lacks the constant regions of full-length antibodies, allowing for efficient binding and isolation without compromising cell integrity. Its primary application is as a diagnostic or research tool for monitoring melanoma progression and treatment response.
