Overview
Anti-hepatitis B virus placenta transfer factor is an immunomodulatory biologic agent derived from human placental tissue. It consists of a dialyzable extract containing low-molecular-weight peptides and polynucleotides that are capable of transferring antigen-specific cell-mediated immunity from an immune donor to a non-immune recipient. Specifically designed to target the hepatitis B virus (HBV), it is used as an adjuvant therapy to enhance the host's cellular immune response. The drug promotes the maturation and activation of T-lymphocytes and stimulates the production of cytokines, such as interferon-gamma, which are critical for the clearance of HBV-infected cells. It is primarily developed and manufactured by Shineway Pharmaceutical for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B, often in combination with nucleoside analogs like entecavir.
