anti-HER-2 siRNA is a modified hybrid (DNA-RNA) small interfering RNA (siRNA) molecule developed as a potential anticancer therapeutic. It functions by specifically targeting and silencing the Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) gene, thereby inhibiting its transcription and reducing the expression of the HER2 protein. This gene silencing effect aims to sensitize tumor cells to chemotherapeutics and inhibit tumor growth. The drug is delivered via a nanosized immunoliposome-based complex (scL-HoKC) designed for systemic administration and preferential targeting of tumor cells, addressing challenges associated with siRNA delivery such as low transfection efficiency and poor tissue penetration.
